Angel Sequeiros/Quinta Gavineira, Albariño 2019

Bodegas Angel Sequeiros is located in Condado do Tea, a region to the south of Rías Baixas. Very close to the Miño river, it sits just across the border from northern Portugal. Fertile with granite subsoil, facing south and sunny from dawn to dusk, it comprises 7.3 hectares of 100 year old vines planted solely for the purpose of producing exceptional Albariño. This is a complex and refreshing Albariño that exudes real character. The grapes were harvested and spent an extended time on lees and saw a judicious use of oak which racks up the aromatic complexity and texture in the wine. Packed with notes of juicy peach, ripe honeydew melon, citrus and the classic salty, persistent finish. A fabulous food wine that pairs best with seafood or chicken.
